Playing catch-up, March 6, 2008

We’ve been trying to set some time aside to watch the last pile of submission DVD’s that have built up on the shelf. There isn’t much hope for anything new for theatrical at this point though. The new tour program has ballooned to just under 90 minutes so now it’s time to watch this monster with an audience and see what goes and what stays. We’re still looking at new work for all of our other platforms. There’s a strong certainty that the Animation Show will splash across mtv2 again in the next few weeks with new unseen shorts. The Myspace project is on hold for ridiculous insurance reasons that I can’t go into without fits of rage. But we’ve got our eyes on a new home for this growing library of incredible shorts. These things just take an unbelievable amount of time to confirm before you can discuss. Also on the horizon are fresh batches of iTunes episodes which can be expected before June. The DVD-R’s just arrived for final sign off and review of the Volume 3 DVD and after that it’s time to settle in to 12 – 17 hours of promotional material design with the new program flyer, one sheet, newspaper adverts, banner ads and general web overhaul. Rebecca has her hands full with the new trailer design, gathering film elements from animators in eight different countries, catching up on the finer points of Qube digital projection, compiling screeners for theater owners and booking all of our travel for the next five months. We’ll team up later today for more venue booking, budget revisions, t-shirt and merch design and an overall marketing plan for the new tour. Sound like fun?! Click the video on above and go back and read this while it plays. That pretty much sums up the sensation.

-Thank you to Taylor for the heads up on Bert and Ernie go Brutal! Thrashtacular.
