This summer the Animation Show has decided to pick on the summer big shots out there at your local multiplex and today is the first trip into the ring. Illustrator/animator Pascal Campion will be lending his tremendous talents this summer to depict some of our head to heads match ups. This year the summer glut weighs heavy on the superhero side of things with 6 big budget men-in-tights spectacles. On top of that you’ve got Kung Fu Panda’s cutesy robots and a laundry list of mega popcorn flicks opening each week. We've got openings planned through August and September so the show will meet a lot of these costumed yahoos.
Leading the charge for this new program is our Viking Master fresh from Joel Trussell’s year 4 opener. You last saw his guitar shredding talents put use against a gaggle of pirates in the Jason Forest video "War Photographer". Joel’s Vikings rock gods bookend this years show so you’ll meet them very soon. This week Pascal illustrates our Viking hero taking on “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay”. Sure they’re going up on 3000 screens but we’re at the Drafthouse baby which alone knocks out 2999 other movie theaters. This week we also get some love from Austin Chronicle to seal the deal!
