From what I've been reading, 2004 promises boxsets of:

George of the Jungle - complete
Tom and Jerry
Tex Avery at MGM
Rocky and Bullwinkle "season 2"
Looney Tunes Vol. 2

Has anyone heard anything date wise on these projects and are there any other sets coming out?

Much more than that - including the delayed DISNEY TREASURES.

I can only confirm a TOM & JERRY collection in September - and LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION in November. I'm working on others - but my lips are contractually sealed.

Will the Tom & Jerry collection be chronological?

Well this is what you can probably expect to be released this year from reliable sources.
From Rhino Home Video
GI Joe Season 1 Part 1 retails at 60 comes out on Jan 27th
Transformers Season 3 Part/ Season 4 on the same box set Season 4 was only 3 eps
Voltron
Jem
From HB
Flinstones
Jetsons
From WB
Tom & Jerry
Looney Tunes must say nice work on the last one Jerry
Possibly Tex Avery have heard rumors, but that is it nothing confirming
From 20th Century Fox
Simpsons Season 4
Simpsons Season 5
Futurama Season 3
Futurama Season 4
King of the Hill Season 3
King of the Hill Season 4
From Disney
The delayed treasures plus more unconfirmed ones
These are the boxsets you can expect for starters it will be an expensive year for me sad to say because I plan on buying them all except for Jem

The only question I would like to know will wave 4 of the Disney Treasures be released on time in December?Or will the six month delay of wave 3 cause wave 4 to come out next year?

Another good rumor was that a dvd collection of classic Pink Panther cartoons just in time for his 40th anniversary in 2004.Art Leonardi (who worked on the Pink Panther cartoons)was even quoted by saying that there is a planned dvd release for sometime this year.

Is there any truth to this rumor?

I can't confirm anything about the rumor unfortunately, other than that nothing was specified relating to whether it will be a single disc release (which is the context in which it seemed to be stated, or at least how I've taken it) or a box set.

According to Digital Bits, probably we can expect a Batman: TAS boxset, Animaniacs boxset and Tiny Toons boxset (but take them like a big rumor)

I am not sure about a Pink Panther I know a few people who are realy wanting one, but I think for now you may have to settle with Jet Pink for a while. There is a movie box set here in the works simular to the one that was released in the U.K. which would feature some of the Pink Panther cartoons as extras. A lot of people are thinking this is going to be a cartoon set in which it is not. Like I said it will have some of the cartoons as extras like The Adventures of Robin Hood and The Treasures of the Sierra Madre had a few of the Looney Tunes as extras on these discs from what Ive read.

Jerry, after reading the many articles regarding the censorship and even omission of a number of shorts featured (or not) on the R2 French Tex Avery Collector's Set... Could you offer any hint of confidence to us, that this will not be mirrored into the production of the eventual R1 collections?

Maybe not a direct answer... but perhaps a dxsmile.gif or :( or something...

If the US version is censored like the French one I will not buy it.

WB has been saying this for years... (Since at least 1999.) They've been teasing fans at comic book conventions, online chats, and in press releases but there has been NO OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE or so much as a photograph of a mock-up DVD box set for ANY of those series.

I trust Michael Eisner more at this point that I do the people at WB Home Video.

Now that is great news. I really enjoyed those Looney Tunes DVD's even though the packaging left little to be desired over here in Europe. The content was very well chosen and the quality of the cartoons was just amazing.

As both a Tom and Jerry fan (got em all on DVD myself, that is self made DVD's from recordings I made throught the years) and a Looney Tunes fan this is the best DVD news I've heard for this year so far !
