A future request for Jerry Beck:
I know that the Warner project are most likely laid out for the next few years - even though you can give any information about them. I would just like to make one request if possible in a future Looney Tunes box to include an almost forgotten cartoon - that I feel is important to the warner bros history "Cartoonist's Nightmare" with "Beans" from 1935. Important because it is one of the few live action and annimation cartoons that the studio did. I remember seeing it on the old Nick. package from the late 80's & 90's Thanks Henry Schmidt |

LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION Vol. 2 contains YOU OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES which does combine live action & animation. I am also a fan of A CARTOONIST'S NIGHTMARE, and I have no doubt it will be included on dvd - way down the road. |

I taped a show off of PBS a few years ago - "American Masters: Chuck Jones," I'm sure Jerry has probably seen it. I'm planning on watching that to warm myself up for when my Looney Vol. 2 shows up, but I think that show would make an excellent future "extra" too, I think it's one of the best documentaries about cartoons I've ever seen.

There was a cartoon that did have such a live action framing story titled Eatin' On the Cuff. It is possible that you have confused the two. |

I would love to see "Naughty But Mice" as it was one of the favorites from when I was a child. I do understand it isn't on most people's wish lists, however.

If there was one cartoon from the '30s to use that did have a live-action sequence I would like to see on DVD would probably be "Ride Him, Bosko", whith =a few of the animators at the end wondering how to end the cartoon, and decide to just leave instead, leaving Bosko dead in his tracks while trying to rescue Honey. That ending had to be the MOST radical of all the cartoons produced up to that point, especially to break with the normal conventions of how you typically view cartoons like that were the hero does in at the end, only to find out that he doesn't, 'cause the cartoonists decided to walk out anyway! -------------------- |

Now there's a cartoon I have fond memories of (wonder how that guy on the piano was in the LA segments?). Seems like WB had a thing for doing a few of these toons that used live-action footage whether purposely made for it or stock-footage of some kind (obviously "The Mouse That Jack Built" to name an example). -------------------- |

Well, for me, I don't know every Looney Tune because I'm sure I've not seen all 1,000, but I'd love to get "HillBilly Hare." That's one of my favorite cartoons of anyone.
I'd be willing to bet that one will turn up in the next set or two of the Golden Collections. -------------------- www.pocket-tricks.com - Magic, Jokes, and Novelties!
